After finishing our most recent Southern Girl Travel Guide to Sandals Resorts (this time we featured Sandals Negril) we realized that we failed to mention two great Sandals features:

Swim Up Suites

and

Candlelight Dinners

Sandals is famous in the travel business for having a dizzying array of room types at each resort. Swim Up Suites may be the most unique of all the types.

The name is pretty self explanatory; we’ll let the photos do most of the talking.

Swim Up Suites are just that – luxury accommodations where you room opens onto a patio area that descends immediately into a private or ‘semi-private pool area.

Not all Sandals Resort have Swim Up Suites (though Sandals Negril does), so don’t hesitate to contact us with questions about which resorts include this unique room type.

If you stroll around a Sandals Resort in the late afternoon, you’re sure to see the staff beginning to set up and decorate tables around the resort in certain spots: near the water along the beach, on those gazebos around the resort, on room balconies and patios.

As the sun sets these tables light up like lanterns around the resorts, and represent one of the add-ons we often recommend: Candlelight Dinners.

We’ve talked at length about how nearly everything really is included in Sandals’ definition of All-Inclusive, and we’ve checked out from a wonderful week’s stay without a single additional charge.
