Dogwoods blooming in Willowbrook Park near our home in Burlington, NC
Owning Southern Girl Travel is tremendously rewarding. Helping people travel really is a dream job, and we’ve only found one significant occupational hazard.
We call it travel envy.
Sometimes planning trips to places we love or would love to visit all while hanging out at home really fosters a sense of wanderlust – so much so that we can forget to enjoy what we have here at home, in our own proverbial backyard.
Today we’re featuring a little of the beauty of Willowbrook Park in our hometown of Burlington, North Carolina.
Willow Brook, or as I have always called it, Willowbrook Creek, cuts just about north to south through a portion of the middle of Burlington.
From Front Street south to Church Street the area around the creek forms a beautiful greenway-style park.
It’s a great spot for a picnic or a long walk, and it’s beautiful during springtime. More importantly, it’s right in our own backyard.
With all our focus on far-away travel, sometimes we miss what’s close to home.
What’s close to home is a perfect tonic for a bad case of travel envy. So, don’t forget to enjoy your own backyard, and when it’s time to travel again, don’t forget to give us a call.
Relax…you CAN get there from here!
